Halo Infinite
Game QA Tester - Test Associate III
Captain of the team
As the team Captain, my primary duties involve writing team reports, reviewing other team members' bugs, and managing the team with our STE (Software Testing Engineer).
As a Test Associate, my primary duties include conducting bug investigations, writing bug reports, and keeping constant communication with the team and the developers.
Role Breakdown
As the team's Captain, it was my responsibility to keep the team organized so we can complete test cases most efficiently. This was especially important for a big project like Halo Infinite, which produced countless challenges every day for us to overcome.
I also took part in training and supervising new testers on the team. Like the Spartans in Halo, our team works fast and efficiently, in order to get newer testers on par with our pace and bug quality, I closely reviewed their bugs, suggested better testing methods, and shared my experience as a tester.
As a tester, I paid attention to the details, knowing that even a minor bug can often spawn a cluster of bugs; I actively find methods to improve my workflow, because every minute saved can add up in a long run; I communicated closely with co-workers and developers, so we can have a better understanding about the state of the game and where the vulnerability may exist.
As a result of my actions, I had the highest bug rate for the Halo Infinite project for several months. I also won the internal "Bug of the Week" award several times for my excellent bug quality.
